Job title: Investment Management Oversight Consultant

 

Our client, a globally renowned Asset Manager who operates in over 30 countries worldwide has an exciting new opportunity for an Investment Management Senior Analyst to join their expanding Investment Management Dublin team.

 

About the role:

 

Reporting to the Head of Investment Management the successful candidate will help contribute to the development and implementation of a robust investment management oversight framework for fixed income, equity and alternative strategies. The successful candidate will become an integral member of the firm’s investment team. They will oversee investment performance of investment managers that have delegated responsibility for portfolio management of the firm’s clients including UCITS and AIFs.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Day-to-day investment management oversight to support the Conducting Officer for Investment Management with their governance obligations.
  • Enhancing the operation of and contributing to the evolution of the oversight framework to ensure adherence to CSSF and other equivalent regulations.
  • Monitor and analyse investment performance, including consideration of attribution, anomalies and analysis on material holdings and contributors to and detractors from performance of the UCITS/AIFs as well as institutional accounts.
  • Scrutinizing portfolios to ensure that the investment managers are adhering to the investment strategy and objectives of the fund.
  • Monitoring financial markets.
  • Maintain RBAs (risk-based approach profiles) for investment managers and managed products. Review internal and external delegates on a regular basis to ensure that the investment managers are adhering to the investment strategy, objectives, and investment guidelines of the funds.
  • Coordinate and execute initial, on-going, and thematic investment manager due diligence reviews for both internal and external investment managers. Represent the Conducting Officer at periodic oversight meetings (e.g., quarterly governance meetings) with portfolio managers/traders/product specialists.
  • Contribute to / run ad-hoc projects and initiatives, collaborating and engaging with various internal functions across various regions.
  • Coordinate and actively support work of relevant committees (e.g., Investment Management and Portfolio Oversight Committee, Market Eligibility Review Committee).
  • Prepare and deliver high quality reports for the attention of the Conducting Officers and the Fund Boards.
  • Oversee maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure all key documents are robust under scrutiny.

 

Requirement:

 

  • A university degree in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience within the asset management/investment funds industry, ideally with experience in investment management oversight. Suitable candidates may also come from an investment management, risk management, private client or similar background.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with an ability to question and challenge.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerBI and Bloomberg would be desirable.
  • Demonstrable an understanding of and keen interest in investment funds with good grasp of the regulatory environment.
  • Working toward professional qualification in the funds/investment management industry (e.g., CFA, CIPM, FRM, and CAIA) would be seen as an advantage, but is not necessary.
  • English is the primary working language.
