Head of Fund Risk

The Head of Fund Risk will assume the Designated Person (DP) for Fund Risk Management (PCF-39C) role. 

This role will act as the primary local contact for Fund Risk Management queries, and will work as part of the group Fund Risk team.

The successful candidate will perform the Fund Risk responsibilities within the CP86 fund management guidance. They will be responsible for effective risk management policies, procedures and processes to identify, measure, manage and monitor all relevant investment risks; ensuring that portfolio’ risk profiles are consistent with limits set; and reporting on those risks as appropriate.

They will also advice on risk related matters whilst maintaining close working relationships with the key stakeholders, to provide alignment with policies and approaches across the business. 

  • Designated Person for Fund Risk Management (PCF-39C) under CP86
  • Ownership of the Fund Risk Governance model across all funds/products under management
  • Ongoing development, implementation, and communication of the internal fund risk framework and policies (following industry best practices) as a second line of defence
  • Independent oversight of adherence to ex-ante risk limits and liquidity parameters across all funds/products
  • Collaborate with the DP for Investment Management around the formal investment risk governance/oversight review process
  • Responsible for the co-ordination and maintenance of the risk management policy (RMP) documents, complying with obligations and provision of necessary information to regulators
  • Present risk program results to fund boards and oversight committees
  • Ownership of the relationship with internal and external boards and committees, including provision of relevant fund risk reporting
  • Principal point of contact with the CBI on all Fund Risk related matters

  • Third level qualification and/or relevant professional qualification eg CFA advantageous
  • 7 or more years of Fund Risk Management (or equivalent) experience  
  • Familiarity with the CBI regulatory environment around Management Companies and underlying funds
  • Existing CBI PCF, preferably PCF-39C, approval
  • Sound understanding of investment management products and services
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
